Mike Jackson

"I’m generally not comfortable in front of a camera. Sam, though, settled my nerves almost right away with her humor, patience, and her matter-of-fact approach. She put me in a position to be myself, which resulted in a set of photos that I’ve been excited to share. Thank you, Sam!"

"I’ve had the pleasure to work with Sam on several projects, both personal and professional. Sam does delightful work and truly captures the personality of her subjects. She takes direction well; I’ve always gotten the photographs that I needed and wanted. But she also brings her own flair to projects, and I’ve received many photographs which were unexpected and wonderful surprises."

Sue Taney

"I had been putting off getting new headshots for a year because I was so stressed out about having them done. I usually feel awkward in front of a camera but Sam made me feel at ease. She made the entire process quick, easy, and, dare I say it, fun."

About SAM

Sam has been taking photos since she stumbled into a photography class in high school, and has loved capturing people at their best ever since.

She's taken photos for the Oberlin Review, the Oberlin Theater and Dance Department, the Philly Improv Theater, and has had her photographs published in the New York Times, Philly.com, and Philadelphia Magazine.

When not photographing happy people, she works as a community manager at Indy Hall, a coworking community in Old City Philadelphia. She also is very active in the comedy community in Philadelphia, and loves getting to photograph her friends being hilarious and making people laugh.

Her favorite thing about taking pictures is getting to know her subjects, and capture who they are in a photograph. No cheesy posed smiles here!
